Hot Pursuit Review

The brand new comical adventure “Hot Pursuit”, starring Sofia Vergara and Reese Withesrspoon (Oscar award for the “Walk the Line”), is a movie that will definitely give you a good laugh as it manages to combine action and comedy and balance the two of those elements throughout the whole movie.

The director of the film is Ann Fletcher who a few years back, in 2009, gave us another great film called “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock and the charming Rayan Reynolds.

Hot Pursuit is a movie where an anxious and meticulous female police officer (which is as you’ve already seen in the trailer Reese Witherspoon) tries to protect the hot and exuberant widow (enter Sofia Vergara) of a drugs baron. In that effort, the two of them travel through Texas, while being chased by corrupted cups and dangerous criminals.

This movie unites in the big screen an Oscar awarded actor, Reese Witherspoon (who is worth noting that has been nominated for this year as well for the movie “Wild”) and one of the Hollywood’s hottest female figures, Sofia Vergara who in fact just recently managed to get on the cover of the Vanity Fair magazine (last month’s edition) where she even talked in public about her relationship with the 38 year old actor, Joe Manganiello.

No spoilers of course but here is a brief update to the plot. The female police officer is excited because of her new – seemingly simple – mission. She has been ordered to escort the wife of a famous and powerful drug dealer, from San Antonio in order to testify against him. And since it is a top priority mission, Reese is determined to complete the mission and not let her boss down.

However, the moment she meets the hot yet stubborn witness, she realizes that this is not going to be a walk in the park. And on top of that, just as the wife is trying to decide which pair of shoes to take with her, the husband (the notorious drugs dealer) is ambushed and the wife is suddenly a widow. So the puny cup has to get the witness to safety under the new circumstances.

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are not only the stars of this movie but also the production managers.

Even though they didn’t seem to fit judging from the outside, the two of them ultimately came close and during the breaks Sofia often teased and prank Reese – she is actually surprisingly good at pranking people.

The script got both of them excited mostly because they saw potential in it and the chance to work together on a comedy film, even though they had not crossed paths again on the big screen.

In USA “Hot Pursuit” is an office success since it made more than 31 million dollars in sales in just a few days.

Overall, it is a great comedy film with a good cast and many funny scenes to keep you stuck on your laughing face for the whole movie. So if you haven’t seen it yet, then don’t wait too long. Book some tickets for you and your friends and go have a great time with this promising comedy.
