Ben Hilfenhaus

Ben Hilfenhaus’s full name is Benjamin William Hilfernhaus. He was born in Ulverstone in Tasmania, he is Australian cricketer and he plays in Domestic cricket under Tasmania. He has been nicknamed Gentle Ben. He is a right-armed person and fast medium bowler while he is known for his ability of swinging a ball. He has two bowling styles: fast bowling and seam bowling. Ben Hilfenhaus is mostly a swing bowler and he relies on moving of the ball away of a right handed batmen.

Hilfenhaus is a player in Tasmania University Cricket Club and he had a haul of over 39 wickets and it was the record for a person who plays for the Tasmania. Afterwards, he was given the full-time contractor of 2006-2007, while he was working as a bricklayer and playing the cricket. He had the best bowling figure which is 7/58 in First Class cricket and he achieved the first season of Tasmania. During the year 2007, he made the debuts in Twenty 20 International and in One Day International. The following year, he got named to be Bradman Young Cricketer for the Year. In the year 2006/2007, he was named the Player of the Year for Tasmania and this is when the club won a Pura Cup for its first time. Because of setback from injury, he did not start in Test until 2009.

From his biography, Ben Hilfenhaus joined Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy on Scholarship with other 25 players. It was the same year that he got a rookie contract with the Tasmania in 2002-03. During the year 2003, he got included into the 25-man intake for CB cricket Academy. It was in 17 October of 2005 that he started to play in the senior debut at the age of 22 and he played in Tasmania team for Pura Cup during the first class competition under Australia. The match was ended into a draw while Ben Hilfenhaus was able to make a single wicket which is what Mitchell Johnson had bowled and he conceded 125 runs.

Since 2005/06 Season, Hilfernhaus continued to be on a rookie contract while he claimed 39 wickets in Pura Cup with 30.82 average. He broke the record that was set by the West Indian Michael Holding as the most wickets in the first class game. Ben Hilfenhaus’ reward was to be given a full contract by Tasmania and got a place in Australia X squad for Top End Series during winter. He also played for Australia in under-19.

Ben Hilfenhaus is also a golfer who has got eight handicaps while he became Mr September in McGrath Foundations in the year of 2009 Men of Cricket calendar. Ben Hilfenhaus got married in 2012 and his wife is Meri Jenkins. He did not attend 2012 ipl because of injury. There is no information about his net worth.
