Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers was born on the 26th January 1973 in the small seaside town of Carnlough, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.His parents were Malachy,a painter, and Christina, a volunteer for the Irish charity.As to his siblings, Brendan has five brothers and he is the eldest one. He attended the All Saints Catholic Primary School in Ballymena.

During Roders’ adolescence, he was a player of Northern Ireland, especially taking a part in a game against Brazil in 1988. He also was also a player of the Republic of Ireland at schoolboy level.The beginning of his senior career was at a position of a defender for Ballymena United, his local team, in 1987. Three years later at the age of 18, Reading signed him to play in the reserves. Because of genetic knee condition, he had to end his professional playing career at the age of 20.

After this necessary retirement, Rodgers spent several years playing in non-league football for Newport (IOW), Witney Town and Newbury Town. He was still a youth coach at Reading. For a long time Brendanhad been travelling around Spain learning different coaching methods. Eventually in 2004, the manager José Mourinho proposed him a place of a head youth coachin the Chelsea Academy afterMourinho's assistant and future Premiership manager Steve Clarke’s recommendation. Two years later, he was promoted to reserve team manager, and was kept in that position by subsequent Chelsea managers Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

In 2008, in order to manage Championship side Watford, Brendan left Chelsea. Rodgers won only two of his first ten league games as manager, leaving Watford in the relegation zone by January. However, Watford's form dramatically improved, and Rodgers was able to guide them to finish 13th to avoidrelegation.He managed Watford, Reading and Swansea City before becoming the manager of Liverpool in 2012. The peak of his career was during the season with Liverpool. While Liverpool was not good in run in their history, he took over and almost won the premiere league. Liverpool finished second behind Manchester City in 2014. According to a bad start to the next season,the club fired him. Brendan Rodgers is convinced in the importance of team spirit, real possession of the ball and a flowing passing game with the ball always moving. As to the personal life in his biography, Rodgers separated from his wife Susan Rodgers, with whom he had been married for 14 years, in the summer of 2014 and divorced in December 2015.
