Don Francisco

Mario Luis Kreutzberger Blumenfeld, professionally known as Don Francisco, is a renowned Chilean television host. Born on 28 December 1940 in Talca, Chile, he gained fame for creating and hosting various Spanish-language television programs. He became especially popular on the Univision Network in the United States, where his shows reached Spanish-speaking audiences across the country.

Don Francisco is best known as the long-time host of the variety show Sábado Gigante, which ran for over 53 years until its final episode in September 2015, as well as Don Francisco Presenta. His work has made him one of the most recognizable figures in Latin American television history.

Although often misrepresented, Don Francisco is not the son of a Southern Baptist preacher. In fact, he was born to Jewish parents who fled Nazi Germany for Chile. Over the years, his personal spiritual path became deeply meaningful to him, though it was not shaped by a traditional Christian upbringing.

He is of the Jewish faith.

Marriage and Personal Challenges

Don Francisco married Teresa "Temmy" Muchnik Rosenblum in 1962, and their relationship, while largely kept private over the years, played an important role in his personal development. The couple has three children together: Patricio, Vivi and Francisco.
