Ian Bell

Ian was born on 11 April 1982. He was born in Coventry in England. It is known that his parents always encouraged him to play cricket and he started at a very early age. Ian completed his education from Prince Thorpe College. He also has a sibling whose name is Keith. Apart from this, there is not much known about his parents and family.

It is known that Ian started his career with his school team and he played several matches for the local team as well. It was in 2004 when he was introduced to international cricket and his first match was against West Indies. This was also the first victory for the cricketer. He later on went to play several matches against various countries and he never disappointed his fans with his batting. He had always been one of the favourites for his fans.

He played extremely well against Pakistan in 2005 and he scored 131 runs in the test. In 2006, he got a chance to play in ICC Champions trophy and unfortunately the team was eliminated. Ian also played in World Cup Cricket in 2007. The team managed to reach the top 8 but it finished on the fifth place as the team lost the qualifying match for semi-finals. In 2010, it was reported that Ian had an injury which costed him a lot of time in hospital. In 2011, Ian again played for England in World Cup but couldn’t win the cup again.

In 2015, Ian announced the sad news of his retirement. In a press interview he revealed that he will retire from international cricket and he will only play test matches. This was revealed during an interview on BBC Radio

Talking about the statistics, Ian played a total of 105 matches and scored an average of 45 runs in test matches. In one day internationals, Ian batted for 146 times and scored an average of 37.16 runs overall. He had also been honoured by the title of ICC Emerging Player of the Year in 2006. Considering his performance, he had been awarded with man of the series award in test cricket once and he had also been awarded with three man of the matches in test cricket. His performance in ODI’s had been great because of his batting and he received 9 man of the match award along with 3 man of series award.

In 2011, Ian decided to tie a knot with Chantal Louise Bastock. The couple went to Maldives after getting married. Ian’s wife gave birth to a baby boy after the marriage. It is also known that the couple loves children and wants to extend the family soon. Ian’s salary is estimated to be around 700 thousand GBP but his net worth is not public. Looking at his salary and his success, it can be said that he is a high net worth individual. He also has a great fan following.
