Born in April 12, 1978, Sara Elizabeth Walsh grew up in the Tampa Bay Neighborhood. She studied high School in New Port Richey situated in Florida. She did her bachelor studies at the University of North Florida. She was an avid football player and part of the soccer team at University of North Florida. She holds a record of nine points including goals and assists in a single game at school. Most of the records she set at school before her graduation in 1999 have not yet been bested. She majored in Communication at the University of North Florida in the year 1999.

Profession

Soon after earning a degree in communications, Sara Walsh started her career in journalism working as reporter for the Beaches Leader in the year 2000. Sara Walsh later started working with WPGA situated in Macon, GA. She worked as sports director from the year 2001 to 2003 there. She later shifted to WKRN-TV located in Nashville, Washington, where she worked for three years from the year 2003 to 2006. She then shifted to the CBS affiliate in Washington D.C. WUSA-TV. She was the sports anchor during weekends and also served additionally as the Redskins reporter of the station. She then joined ESPN in the year 2010.

Awards and Recognitions

Sara is a four time Regional Sports Emmy Award winner. She has worked for over three years at ESPN and has made a name for herself as an important Sports Center personality. She is also a staple reporter at the shows on ESPN including “Sports Nation,” “First Take,” “NFL Live,” “NFL32,” “Fantasy Football Now”, and NFL Draft specials.

Sara Walsh’s work at ESPN has made her a role model among the University of North Florida students and in her hometown too. She had said in one of her tweets that throwing first pitch before the beginning of a Tampa Bay Rays game had been her dream for a long time and in June she was invited to do so. She threw the first pitch on June 12, 2013 at the Tropicana Field Mound in the game against Boston Red Sox.
