From his biography, Allen Bard was born in the city of New York City and he studied at Bronx High School of Science and he graduated in City College in New York. He went to Harvard University and he got Masters in 1956 and the PhD in 1958.

For his education, Allen Bard started to work at University of Texas in Austin and he had continued there for the entire career. However, he took the sabbatical in the year 1973 and worked at the lab of Jean-Michel Saveant at the Sherman Mills Fairchild Scholar. In the year 1988, he worked like Robert Burns Woodward where he was a visiting professor on Harvard University.

Allen Bard had published over 900 peer-reviewed research papers in 75 publications and he has over 23 patents. He had written three books which are Integrated Chemical System: a Chemical Approach to Nanotechnology and Chemical Equilibrium; Electrochemical Methods: Fundamental and Application and Chemical. He has a book called Electrochemical Methods-Fundamental and Application has become the defining text at electrochemistry and it is called just Bard.

Center for Electrochemical had been founded in the year 2006 and it was to create the cooperation with the collaborative group in the electrochemistry. Together with his group, they were the original researchers in taking advantage of the electrochemistry in order to create light. Creation of the light can produce a sensitive method of the analysis and it can be applied to wide variety of the medical and biological uses and it involves analyzing the DNA and HIV. Bard Group has applied electrochemical methods in order to learn about the chemical problems and it includes the investigation on the electro-organic chemistry, electrogenerated chemiluminescence, electroanalytical chemistry and photoelectrochemistry.

Allen Bard got married to Fran Bard and she died in the year 2016. They had two children called Sara and Ed and they had four grandchildren Dylan, Rachel, Marlee and Alex. Allen Bard got many awards, Wolf Prize of Chemistry, Priestley Medal, NAS Award in Chemical Sciences and Enrico Femi Awards and National Medal of Science in Chemistry. He was nominated for Nobel Prize in 2012. Allen Bard is found in Google scholar citations. His net worth has not been recorded yet. Besides science, he likes art like painting, drawing and music.
