Billy Bretherton

Career and Net Worth

Billy got his big break when he appeared on the TV show, Dirty Jobs. The show's premise was to have the host explore the dirtiest and disgusting jobs that no one wants to do. The show was top-rated because of the bizarre things they showed. In one episode, the host had to help a crew clean up a crime scene. He had to clean the blood off a carpet, giving insight into what happens at a crime scene. After Billy's appearance on the show, he was contacted by the network, A&E.

A&E wanted to create a new show that would focus on Billy and his pest control company. They decided to call it Billy the Exterminator. Billy traveled to Canada in 2016 to begin production of the new show. The series was produced by Proper Television and featured encounters with wolves preying on livestock, beavers flooding country roads, and porcupine-infested homes. Billy loved being a part of the show because it was a return to his natural roots.

Billy the Exterminator followed the professional life of Billy Bretherton and his brother, Ricky Bretherton. The show documented the two brothers' day-to-day life as they ran Vexcon, their family business.

Other family members were also included in the show's cast, such as Billy's parents, "Big" Bill, and Donnie Bretherton. Billy's wife, Mary Bretherton, was also featured on the show. The show's tagline was: "Do you have a huge snake? A raccoon family living in your attic? Or are you so backwater redneck that you're attracted to your sister? Call Billy to help you out."

In 2012, Billy left Vexcon due to personal issues, and Billy the Exterminator was canceled after six seasons.

While in Canada, Billy wrote an article about the country. In that article, he shared six places he fell in love with during his stay in Toronto: Studio 67, Kensington Market, Doc's Leathers, G-Star Raw, High Park, and Toronto Metal Clubs. His favorite place was the metal clubs, and he couldn't hold back his excitement for them when he was asked about them, "I'm a diehard metal fan. It all started with Mötley Crüe in the '80s. Toronto has a great scene for discovering new musical acts and genres. Sometimes I wander into Bovine Sex Club or Hard Luck Bar to bond with metalheads and discover some new music."
