For the rest of this decade, Biz Markie did not make any songs but he did make some television appearances. Biz Markie was on “In Living Color” and performed in a Freestyle rap commercial on MTV2. During this time, Biz Markie also appeared in many songs by the Beastie Boys such as “Hello Nasty”, “Ill Communication”, “Check Your Head” and “The Sounds of Science”.

In 2002, Biz Markie played the role of an alien in “Men in Black II”, a film that starred Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. In 2003 Biz Markie did voice over work for the international television series “Kung Faux”. Biz also appeared in an episode of the television series “Fastlane’, in which he played himself being a nightclub DJ.

Biz Markie would eventually return back to the studios. In 2003 he released his fifth album, his first in ten years, entitled “Weekend Warrior”. The album was released through Tommy Boy Records and featured DJ Jazzy Jeff, P Diddy, and Erick Sermon. Two years after this release he put out a fourteen track compilation album “Make the Music with Your, Mouth, Biz”, which was issued through the label Cold Chillin’.

Health

Biz Markie was diagnosed with type ll diabetes and he had to lose weight. He lost the weight through diet, exercising, and cutting back on his sugar intake. During this time, Biz Markie dropped his weight from three hundred sixty five pounds to a slimmer two hundred forty pounds.
