David Chang 

Born on 5 august 1977, Chang is still 39 years old and is in his prime age. He was born and brought up in Virginia, USA where his father owned two restaurants and a golfing warehouse. His father was a South Korean immigrant and worked very hard to get a decent life in a different country. Chang was into golfing since he was a kid as he always accompanied his father to the warehouse and golf courses. His interest did not just stop here as he went on to play many junior level tournaments. He did his schooling from Georgetown Prep and later went to Trinity college to get a degree in religious studies. Till that time, however, he wasn't sure about what he wanted to do in life and so experimented with different jobs. He went to Japan to teach English and also did some financial work in New York.

In 2000 he decided to do something in the culinary field and so he got himself enrolled in the International Culinary Center which was then called the French Culinary Institute in New york. While learning cooking he also worked at Mercer kitchen as part time. After completing his education he moved to Japan and started working in Park Hyatt Hotel. He returned to the US some ears later and got a job at cafe Boulud but he started disliking the whole restaurant scene at that time. This is when he decided to change the whole system and do better than what the then restaurants were doing. He opened his own restaurant called the Momofuku Noodle Bar in Manhattan in 2004. 2 years later he opened another restaurant called the Momofuku Ssam Bar just a few blocks away from his first restaurant. in 2008 he opened his third restaurant called the Momofuku Ko which has juts 12 seats inside it and is very difficult to get a reservation in it. The success of other restaurants and the limited seating capacity makes it very exclusive and tough restaurant to get a reservation into. Also the fact that the reservations can only be done through its website adds to the difficulty.

This has trusted many of the customers and many influential people as well. He continued his expansion and a year later Chang opened another restaurant called Momofuku Milk bar that serves cakes, Pies, and soft drinks. The fame of these restaurants is at an all time high with people flocking to them in order to get best noodles in the country. The recipes used there are unique which gives the food a different taste than the competitors.

Chang has also written many books and often appears on talk shows on TV. He has often said in his interviews that he doesn't like going to restaurants because they don't feel welcoming and also the food served there is not good as expected.
