Gabriel Macht was born in 1972 in The Bronx, New York City. He is the son of Suzanne Victoria Pulier, a museum curator and archivist, and Stephen Macht, an actor. Raised in a Jewish household, Gabriel grew up alongside his three siblings: Jesse, a musician known for appearing on *The Next Great American Band*, and siblings Julie and Ari Serbin.
At the age of five, Macht's family relocated to California, where he spent the remainder of his childhood. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School and went on to study at the Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts, earning his degree in 1994.
Acting Beginnings and Early Career
Macht began acting at the age of eight under the stage name Gabriel Swann. His early performance in the film *Why Would I Lie?* earned him a nomination for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award. This early success marked the beginning of a steady career in film and television.
Over the years, he built a diverse acting portfolio, with roles in films such as *A Love Song for Bobby Long*, *The Recruit*, *Because I Said So*, and *Archangel*. For the 2001 action film *Behind Enemy Lines*, he filmed scenes aboard the USS Carl Vinson, including sequences on the flight deck, hangar bay, and interior corridors.
