Hollywood says goodbye to Christopher Lee

Sir Christopher Lee, a legend of the big screen who left his own history as a movie star, passed away at the age of 93 and his friends, colleagues, directors and actors are remembering all they did together.

Famous directors and actors that had the luck and happiness (as they stated) to work with him in one or more projects, express their admiration to Sir Christopher along with their honest condolences.

Tim Barton worked with Christopher Lee in 5 movies, starting with the Sleepy Hollow. The last time they met was 3 years ago in the movie “Franekenweenie”. The talented director wrote: “Christopher had always been a great source of inspiration for me in all my life. He was the last one of a great generation, a true legend that I had the honour to call friend. He will continue to inspire me and the next generations as well”.

Another famous director, Martin Scorsese that never missed a chance to express his admiration for Christopher Lee, wrote based on the event of his death: “Sir Christopher Lee was my friend. I think about him and I always will. We both wished we could have the chance to work closer together and it was a privilege doing Hugo with him. Just the fact that I met him, and listened to him narrating his stories with that lovely baritone voice, stories from his time, from the time he worked at Hammer Studios in all those movies that are now considered classic. […] He was a lovely actor, a lovely friend, a TRUE professional and honestly I will miss him.”

Peter Jackson, who as Tim Barton, also worked with him in 5 movies (The Lord of the Rings trilogy and two from The Hobbit trilogy) came very close to Sir Christopher Lee and stated: “There will be no one else like Christopher Lee, he possesses a unique part in the history of cinema as well as the hearts of millions fans around the world”.

Then we have his costar, Elijah Wood (together they worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy) who through his personal account on twitter paid his own tribute be posting: “If someone had to be immortal, that should be Christopher Lee. He was an exceptional storyteller and he liked sharing his experiences”.

Here are some other tweets by famous people who decided to pay their tribute to the great Sir.
