Aaron’s father was really interested in making him in joining their family business which is a retail shop that sells gold. But when one of Aaron’s brothers took charge of the shop his father allowed him to get into the film industry. Aaron has an experience of working as a Junior Staff with King Fook Gold & Jewellery Co. Ltd soon but he was fired from the job in the year 1984 for taking a prolonged sick leave. Aaron’s talent was then recognized in a dancer training academy at TVB which he joined after being fired from his previous firm. Aaron was just 19 years old at that time.

The academy gave him the right platform and he soon started to work in video songs and also for other singers. His career began to bloom at TVB when he was put into the acting department of the academy. From there, Aaron started to perform in television and had played in TVB dramas too. Aaron was also a model for the Honda Motorcycle TV commercial in the year 1990. This commercial ad was a turning point in Aaron’s career and he began to get popular among the Taiwanese girls soon.

Aaron soon moved into the music industry. He started to work in the music industry with the song ‘Loving You Forever’ for the album three Mandopop. Later on, Aaron moved to Taiwan to work on his next performance related to Cantopop. Soon he became the most renowned star of Hong Kong as well as of Asia. He is the winner of Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Award in the year 1991 and in the year 2001 he won the RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Award. He was a constant winner of the major award till the year 2001. He became the winner of the Asia Pacific Most Popular Artist award in the year 1999. Aaron was the first one to win this award. He has worked on choreography for the troop As One with Sunny Wong. Aaron is a graduate of St. Joseph's College in Hong Kong.
