Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is of Nigerian origin but born in Islington, London on 22nd August 1967. His parents were of Yoruba origin.

When he was a baby, about just a month old, he was given to a white working class family in Tilbury. When he attained the age of eight, he was brought back to Nigeria by his biological parents. Since he could not speak their ethnic language Yoruba and English was not allowed in their household he felt disconnected. After a few months, he returned to Tilbury.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje had a troubled life as a teenager. He was unable to immediately adjust to the English lifestyle after he returned from Nigeria. To avoid racial discrimination he joined a local skinhead gang. At the tender age of fifteen he had turned into a violent thief. Seeing this, his foster parents admitted him to a Boarding school in Surrey. But things got worse since he tried to commit suicide. However, that incident changed him and he accepted his background. He started a new life which turned the tide in his favor.

He got himself a degree in Law from King's College London and Masters in Law from the University of London. When he was studying in the university, he was employed in a clothes shop. This shop opened the doors of modeling for him.

He had a successful career as a model in Milan and Paris. Eventually he landed himself a role in Hollywood and his acting career kicked off with the movie 'Congo' in the year 1995. He is best remembered for his role as a sinister and evil criminal Simon Adebisi in the TV Show OZ and Mr.Eko on the superhit TV show Lost.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje is known for his movies as well. Be it his first role in “Congo” or the more popular role of Nykwana Wombosi in the thriller movie “Bourne Identity”. He is also a part of movies such as "The Mummy Returns" playing the role of Lock-Nah. He was also seen in the Season 5 of the blockbuster TV Show “Game of Thrones” in the role of Malko. The latest movie, of which he is a part, is Suicide Squad, which is releasing in 2016. He is known as Triple A to his fans.

He is involved in the writing and direction of a movie called Farming which is his own life story. It is about showcasing the plight of Nigerian kids who are given to British families as foster kids. It describes the hardships a Nigerian had to face in Britain in the aftermath of the Second World War.

He knows a few languages which include Swahili, Yoruba, and Italian apart from English. His parents' death made him voluntarily quit the TV show “Lost” and returns to London. According to the known sources he was never married and hence there is no question of wife, nor a girlfriend or never fathered any children.
