Aisha Naomi Tyler was born on September 18, 1970, in San Francisco, California, United States. She is an American actress, comedian, director, producer, and writer. Her parents are Robin Gregory, a teacher, and Jim Tyler, a photographer. Her parents separated when she was ten years old, after which she was raised by her father.

Tyler attended McAteer High School in San Francisco, where she developed a passion for comedy and acting. She actively participated in school plays and stand-up comedy events, receiving early praise for her performances. Personal Life

Aisha Tyler married attorney Jeff Tietjens in 1992. The couple parted ways and finalized their divorce in 2017. Although they had hoped to have children, they were ultimately unable to do so and later chose not to continue trying. Both Aisha and Jeff were home-brewing enthusiasts and shared a fondness for craft beer during their marriage.
