"Wake Up With Al" long time co-host and NBC's Today weatherman Al Roker, a veteran NBC personality who has been an active in the industry for near to four decades now, has been moved to The Weather Channel contributor position upon the cancellation of the 2009-started weather+ news headline+ featured content  show on October 2, 2015.

From what we have heard, the show was cancelled because of high production cost. Sadly, now many people will be missing Al's advice on relationship and social life. If you didn't know, he was also famous as a relationship and social expert known for his morning discussions on the show.  However, he will keep us giving weather insights as a weather contributor.

Al is the same man who used to weigh about 340 pounds in 2002. However, he later lost about 140 pounds after going through a gastric bypass surgery. And, interestingly in 2014, his 34 hour live weather stint won him a Guinness Book of World record.

Amazingly, he is creating buzz in tabloids because of his next mission. He now wants to be the fastest man to report the weather from all the 50 states. The one week stint named "Rokerthon 2, Taking America By Storm" will start from Hawaii on Friday, November 6.  Another good thing about the unique marathon is that all the money collected from the event will be given to Feeding America.

Except the gastric bypass surgery, he has gone through a total knee anthoplasty and back surgery on two separate occasions  in the past.

 Now moving on to his physical configuration, the weather guru is the tall man with the height of 5 feet and 10 inches. Impressively, the American national of black ethnicity (fatherof Jamaican descent and mother of Bahamian descent) has thick and strong thigh/legs and arms, and bald hair . Although, there is still a visible amount of weight on his belly, we can term him as a healthy person. As of 2015, he is 63 and it seems like he is never getting old.

And with increasing age and experience, his is growing as a person. Personality wise, he is defined as outspoken, progressive and thoughtful. However, if Al had to define himself in one word, he will tell you that he is a shy person.

Born on August 20, 1964, in Queens, New York US, Catholic raised Al Roker wanted to be a cartoonist in his childhood. And because of the interest, he enjoed his time as the school's Cartooning and Illustration Club member.  Later, he graduated from the Manhattan located Xavier High School.

Before joining NBC in 1978, he had earned a B.A. degree in communication from Oswego located State University of New York (1976) and worked for two respected media outlets: Syracuse located CBS affiliate WHEN-TV (1974-1976, weather anchor) and Washington DC located independent station WTTG (1976-1978, weather-caster).

For NBC, he has worked in various  NBC owned or affiliated or past affiliated media acts such as WKYC-TV, WNBC-TV, NBC News, Today Show, CNBC, MSNBC, Weekend Today, Celebrity Family Feud, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, and  Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Impressively, he is generally credited for his big weather events coverage.

Nevertheless, he also currently hosts various programs on The Food Network. Plus, he has also worked in various NBC's affiliated radio station, and also for other network affiliates as well.

Now wonder his net worth is speculated to be 30 million US dollars. Clearly, starring in high rated shows such as  Today and Wake of with Al, he has earned millions.  

Talking about his relationship status, he is married to his NBC colleague Debroah Roberts. Debroah joined NBC in 1990 as a reporter.

Altogether, the 9 times Emmy winner has married for three times and has three children.
