Alexandre De Meyer is a French artist and graphic designer that is famous for being the ex-husband of reality TV star and personality, Danielle Colby. Colby is the host of the reality TV show, American Pickers that airs on the History channel.

Alexandre De Meyer has French roots but the date and place of his birth are unknown because he has been been able to keep details about ihm away from the public record. Being an artist has made a secluded person. He only came into the public spotlight because of his previous marriage with Colby. Even during their relationship, he tried to remain in the shadows and never gave interviews about his life.

Growing up, Alexandre always had an athletic body but he didn’t care for sports. Creative outlets like art drew him in. He liked to sport a long beard to add to his artistic physical image. He went to school to study graphic design because he felt that technology was really pushing digital art and he wanted to be at the right place when the wave got stronger.

Alexandre has been fortunate off to avoid the label of being a “starving artist”. He owns and runs his own screen printing shop based in Chicago. To make ends meet, he creates designs for item slike posters, covers, logos, stickers, postcards, and T-Shirt.

He sells these items under the brand name of Neuf Vies. To promote his business, Alexandre uses the platform that he studied in college which is the internet. He is very technologically savvy and able to use his website to market his items and services.

Although he is French, Alex uses American film posters and tattoos from the 1960s and 1970s as his inspiration when he creates his art. He really likes the aesthetic and visual art style from those eras. His art style has drawn the attention of clients like musicians and other creative artists. To complete his work, he uses analog and digital formats which is a result of his great ability to blend both methods.

Alexandre-de-meyer Marriage with a Reality TV Star

Alexandre started to have romantic feelings for reality TV star, Danielle Colby when she hired him for some art work. In 2011, Danielle asked him to create a logo for her retro clothing boutique, 4 Miles 2 Memphis. She was opening her first store in Le Claire, Iowa and really wanted a logo that would catch people’s attention.

When they eventually got married, Danielle could not hide her glee from the rest of the world. She would often post pictures of them doing fun things. One time, she even posting a photo celebrating Alexandre’s green card and she thanked the Immigration Department for giving her foreign husband the honor of being an American.

As an artist, Alexandre really appreciated his wife because of her taste for collecting on her TV show, American Pickers. When asked by Monsters and Critics about which category of collectibles that she is obsessed with, Danielle said, “I am completely and hopelessly obsessed with vintage stage costumes, specifically early burlesque.

I have an extensive collection from all around the world, as early as the 1800’s. Including a very rare costume from Lillie Langtry of the 1890’s, an original early Mata Hari stage costume from 1910-20, and a banana skirt believed to have belonged to Josephine Baker. I have a full collection of lesser known dancers costumes as well. I love playing history detective with those. I get to hunt down history on the dancers myself. It’s a project that consumes my every waking moment.“

At one point in their marriage, Alexandre helped raise Danielle's two children from a previous marriage in their Chicago home. They also owned a vacation home in France. Unfortunately, their marriage came to a bitter end but no one knows why because even Danielle has not revealed the reasons for their split.
