Alexis Knapp was born on July 31, 1989, in Avonmore, Pennsylvania. She spent her early childhood in the outskirts of North Carolina before relocating to Los Angeles at the age of eighteen.
After moving to Los Angeles, Knapp began hosting a web series titled Project Lore, which focused on the popular video game World of Warcraft. Prior to her film career, she also worked as a model.
Knapp made her film debut in 2009 with a minor role in Couples Retreat. In 2012, she secured roles in Project X and So Undercover, portraying the character Taylor Jaffe in the latter. Her career gained further momentum in 2013 with appearances in Vamp U as Samantha and Cavemen as Kat. Over the years, she has expanded her filmography with various roles in both feature films and independent projects.
Knapp is best known for her portrayal of Stacie Conrad in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect, a character she reprised in the film's 2015 sequel. The success of the Pitch Perfect series contributed significantly to her rise in popularity. She was also set to return as Stacie Conrad in the franchise’s third installment, released in 2017.
In 2010, she made a brief appearance in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief as one of Aphrodite's daughters, often referred to by fans as an “Aphrodite Girl.” This role, though small, added to her visibility in mainstream media.
