Ali MacGraw is an American actress who was once voted as the top female box office star in the world and who received international fame for her role in the 1970 film, Love Story. MacGraw was born, April 1, 1939, in Pound Ridge, New York.

She attended Rosemary Hall in Greenwich, Connecticut and Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. MacGraw began her acting career by working in commercials; she received critical acclaim for her first movie role in the 1969 film Goodbye, Columbus, but her real fame came when she starred opposite Ryan O’Neal in Love Story, one of the highest-grossing films in U.S. history. Ali MacGraw has been married three times, once to Robin Martin Hoen, once to Robert Evans, with whom she had a child, and once to actor Steve McQueen.

Her longest marriage, to Steve McQueen, lasted just five years. In 1991 Ali MacGraw was chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world. MacGraw revealed in her autobiography, Moving Pictures, that she struggled with both alcohol and sex addiction and for which she was treated at the Betty Ford Center.
