Anna Paquin was born on 24 July 1982 in Manitoba, to an English instructor Mary Paquin and her significant other Brian Paquin, a high school Physical Education educator from Canada. Paquin moved to New Zealand with her family, when she was four years of age. She went to Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School in Lower Hutt until she was nine years of age. As a kid, Paquin's interests included playing the viola, cello and piano, vaulting, expressive dance, downhill skiing, and swimming.
After high school, she went to Hutt Intermediate School from 1994-95. She started school in Wellington at Wellington Girl's school yet she finished it in Los Angeles at Winward College in the wake of moving there with her mom after her folks separated. Anna graduated in June 2000 and proceeded onward to Columbia University, an ivy league organization and one of the most troublesome schools to get into in the states. She decided to drop out to facilitate her acting career.
Anna is most notable for her lead role in The Piano for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at eleven years old, making her the second-most youthful champ ever of Oscars. She went on to star in many shows and films including her recent big run on HBO's True Blood.
