Portraying Lily Tucker-Pritchett, a role that required nuanced delivery and timing, especially given the show's mockumentary style, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons earned widespread acclaim. The show, which won multiple Emmy Awards, was both a commercial and critical success. Aubrey was only four years old when she joined the cast, making her the youngest Asian-American child actor ever to appear on a prime-time American television show.

In 2012, she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series with the Modern Family cast, making her the youngest recipient of the award at that time.

Amy Anderson — Comedian, Actress, and Mother

Aubrey’s mother, Amy Anderson, is a Korean-American comedian, actress, writer, blogger, and activist. Amy was adopted as a child and uses her platform to discuss topics such as motherhood, racism, and adoption through humor. She is best known for producing the monthly comedy showcase "ChopSchtick Comedy" at the Hollywood Improv, which features Asian-American stand-up comedians.

Amy holds a degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College and trained in classical piano and guitar from a young age. Before pursuing a full-time career in entertainment, she held various jobs including working as a coffee shop supervisor, social worker with adults on the autism spectrum, and owning a pet care business.

Path to Acting

Amy Anderson has often stated that acting was not originally in the plan for her daughter. However, an agent recognized Aubrey’s potential and encouraged Amy to bring her daughter to an audition. With only one afternoon of practice, Aubrey stood out during her first audition for Modern Family by confidently reciting two and a half pages of dialogue.

Since then, Aubrey has continued to explore additional roles. Her other acting credits include appearances in short films such as Distance and Child Star Psychologist 2. Despite her early fame, she regularly participates in school plays and community theater as a way to grow and diversify her acting experience.
