His mother worked in early childhood development, while his father practiced as a real estate attorney. Kreischer attended a private Jesuit high school in Tampa before enrolling at Florida State University (FSU), where he majored in English and joined the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

That same year, Rolling Stone magazine published a six-page article profiling Kreischer, titled “Bert Kreischer: The Undergraduate.” The feature portrayed him as "the top partier at the Number One Party School in the country." The article highlighted Kreischer’s larger-than-life personality and his involvement in heavy partying, which drew national attention and jumpstarted his career in entertainment.
Over the years, Kreischer cultivated his comedic persona, famously performing stand-up routines shirtless—a signature element of his act.
