Bonnie Schneider was born in 1969 and grew up in Jericho, New York, in the United States. From a young age, she developed a passion for journalism and weather reporting. This interest led her to pursue a degree in journalism at Boston University. Seeking to deepen her expertise in meteorology, she undertook additional studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and later at Hunter College in Manhattan.

Career Beginnings in Meteorology

Bonnie Schneider began her broadcasting career as a weekend meteorologist at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Her early experiences laid a strong foundation for what would become a prominent career in weather reporting. She gained national attention while working with Bloomberg Television during Hurricane Sandy, delivering forecasts and analysis from the network's New York City headquarters. Around this time, she appeared on a live panel for the Huffington Post Live to discuss the storm and was also interviewed by Mike Huckabee on a national radio broadcast.
