Her father, Turner Jackson is a former wrestling champion and her mother Liz Jackson is a former basketball player who played for Middle Tennessee State University. At an early age of 4 years, Brittany got glued to playing basketball. She played basketball in high school and college while still securing good grades throughout her education.
At Bradley Central High School, she played the forward spot. In 2001, Brittany was awarded the honor of Underclassmen All–American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and also the Tennessee AAA Miss Basketball Award. She had the 46th rank on the best senior players in the country at that time.
She graduated from the Bradley Central High School with a GPA of 3.6 and 2470 points. Later, she played at the University of Tennessee under coach Pat Summitt. She started playing as a guard for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers team in 2001. She single handily took her team Lady Vols to the Finals of NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Championship for four consecutive years. She studied for a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting and Communication at the University of Tennessee. She was featured in FHM magazine when she was in college.
