Candice Huffine is a plus-size American fashion model who was born on October 15, 1984, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. As Huffine grew up in suburban Maryland, she participated in beauty pageants and became a teenage beauty queen. Huffine went on to sign her first contract in 2000 as a plus-size fashion model and has been praised for helping break down barriers in the fashion industry that favors slim models. She even became the first plus-size woman to be featured in the Pirelli Calendar. In 2016, she was the focus of the international spotlight for Lane Bryant's #ImNoAngel campaign. Huffine has progressed into a high-fashion model and has worked with major fashion players including Mert and Marcus, Steven Meisel, and Carine Roitfeld. She founded a collaborative initiative with Women's Running Magazine to help inspire women to get into running in 2016.
Huffine was featured in several New York Fashion Week's in 2017 and walked both the fall and winter runways wearing designer clothing from Prabal Gurung, Sophie Theallet and Christian Siriano. Huffine married her husband Matt Powers in October of 2011. Both she and Powers are currently living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Although they have not yet had children, they do have a dog named Jerry Brows.
