Major League Entry and Early Career

Correa made headlines in 2012 when he became the first overall pick in the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft, selected by the Houston Astros. At just 17 years old, he was the youngest high school player to be drafted that year. He signed with the Astros for a $4.8 million signing bonus, marking the start of his professional career and a turning point in his family's financial situation.

After entering professional baseball, Correa began playing in the Minor Leagues, where he continued to develop his skills. His strong performance earned him a spot in the World Team at the MLB All-Star Futures Game.
