Daniel Kaluuya is an English actor and writer who received international recognition for his portrayal of the character Chris Washington in the 2017 horror-comedy film Get Out. Get Out premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2017. It was released to theaters one month later and grossed two hundred fifty five million dollars; the film was produced on a four and a half million dollar budget. Daniel Kaluuya was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and BAFTA Award for Best Actor for his role in the film. Daniel Kaluuya was born on February 24, 1989, in London, England, to Ugandan parents. Daniel attended St. Aloysius College in London. He wrote his first play at the age of nine and began acting as a child at the local theater, Anna Scher Theatre.

In 2016, Daniel was made a member of the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther. Daniel’s other film credits include Shoot the Messenger (2006), Johnny English Reborn (2011), Welcome to the Punch (2013), and Windows (2018). His appearance in the television show Black Mirror is said to have attracted the attention of director Jordan Peele, who cast him in Get Out.
