Though she did not aspire to be a model, Werbowy was inducted into it by her friends’ mother, who was chief at a Model and Talent Management Company. She won a national contest for models when she was 14 years old. She later joined the Elite Model Management Company which brought her many bookings inside Canada, but she was not internationally launched. She later shifted to Greece and London, but could not get a strong foothold in the international arena. Her career suffered a setback in the wake of September 11 attacks when all her bookings were cancelled. She returned to Canada and continued with modelling to get her through art education. Her career took off when she landed an exclusive contract with Prada. Her international career was launched with the able guidance of International Management Group.

Accomplishment

Werbowy’s clients include Prada, Lancome, Pepe Jeans, Gucci, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Valentino, Louis Vitton, Chanel, Versace, and Oroton. During her debut in 2003 Winter-Fall season, she bagged two important assignments namely that of Vogue Italia and Prada Campaign. She has done a record number of closing and openings of shows in a single season. She has also appeared in the editorials and magazine covers of international magazines. In the year 2004, she signed a lucrative contract with Lancome that offered her over $1 million annually. She owns several restaurants, a football team, and her own Vodka brand in Canada.

She was featured as one of the Models of the Moment by American Vogue in the September 2004 edition. She was listed as the ninth highest earning model in 2007 by Forbes magazine. In 2008, she was inducted into the Walk of Fame in Canada and is the second model to star in the Walk of Fame. She also helps charity causes, and the collection of a three piece makeup set by Lancome launched by Werbowy was given to Vik Muniz Charity Centro Especial in Brazil, which aids underprivileged youth. She also graced the magazine cover of the 2008 September issue of V magazine.
