David Takayoshi Suzuki was born on March 24, 1936 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is an academic, science broadcaster, writer, and environmental activist. During the second world war, Suzuki’s family suffered internment in British Columbia, and at the end of the war they moved to Islington first, and then to London, Ontario. Suzuki completed his studies at the “University of Chicago”, where he received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in zoology in 1961.
