 Dennis Atkins biography

Dennis Atkins is an Australian journalist and author who is based out of Brisbane, QLD. Atkins currently works for the Courier-Mail as a national affairs editor. Throughout his career, Atkins has written for newspapers and is even a regular panelist on the ABC "Insiders" show. The show centers on politics and features Barrie Cassidy, one of Australia's best political analysts. The "Insiders" show mostly airs in the morning on Australian TV and has had a hand in Atkins success. Atkins has worked in journalism covering politics in Australia for over 30 years, according to ABC.

Atkins also did some work in politics as a former Australian Labor Party staffer. He got his start in journalism in the 1980s when he became the national chief of staff with Melbourne's News-Sun Pictorial. After working in politics and a journalist, Atkins settled down in Brisbane as national political editor for the Courier-Mail where he is employed to this day.
