<h2>Who is Ajai Sanders?</h2>

<p>Ajai Sanders is an American stand-up comedian and actress best known for her role of Gina Deveaux in the sitcom A Different World. Ajai Sanders was born on April 24, 1967, in Trenton, New Jersey but grew up in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1985, Sanders moved to Los Angeles and began working as a comic. Sanders once performed her stand up act on <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Simmons">Russell Simmons</a>’ Def Comedy Jam. Her work as a stand-up comedian landed her what was to be a one-time role on A Different World.; however, the director of the show was so impressed with Sanders work that the role became recurring.</p>

<p>Sanders has also made guest appearances on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Parent ‘Hood, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wayans_Bros.">The Wayans Brothers</a>, and the <a href="/biography/jamie-foxx">Jamie Foxx</a> show.  Sanders has also appeared in film; she had a major role in the independent film High Freakquency and a smaller role in the Michael Keaton Christmas comedy <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Frost">Jack Frost</a>.</p>
