Alexandre Lacazette is a French professional footballer who was born on May 28, 1991, in Lyon, France. He grew up in a family of Guadeloupean descent and is the youngest of four boys. One of his brothers is a professional footballer and the coach in the Lyon futsal club. Lacazette began following in his older brother's footsteps and playing football when he was seven-years-old for his local club Elan Sportif. Lacazette officially began his training at the Centre of Tola Vologe, the official training center of his local club. Lacazette went on to become a member of the academy at Lyon. He made his professional debut at the age of 19 and helped club Lyon win the Coupe de France and Trophees des Champions in 2012. In 2014, Lacazette was named the Ligue 1 Player of the Year.
He went on to earn a reputation as a prolific goalscorer with several twenty-goal seasons. In 2017, Lacazette moved to Arsenal in a record deal for £46.5 million. He mostly played as a winger for club Lyon but eventually became a striker and goalscorer. He is known for his fast pace dribbling and tackling ability. Lacazette was named on the standby list for the French squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
