American actress Angela Faye Kinsey was born on June 25, 1971, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her father worked as a drilling engineer, and when Angela was just two years old, the family relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia, due to his job assignment.
Kinsey spent the majority of her childhood in Indonesia, living there for twelve years. While there, she attended the Jakarta Intercultural School, where she adapted to her new environment and became fluent in Indonesian. At age 14, her family returned to the United States, settling in Archer City, Texas.
Angela enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she majored in English. During her college years, she also nurtured her passion for acting by participating in theater classes and gaining stage experience. She graduated from Baylor University in 1993.
Following her graduation, Kinsey landed an internship at NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. This behind-the-scenes experience deepened her interest in entertainment and inspired her to continue developing her acting skills by training at the improv and sketch comedy theater iO West.

Angela Kinsey married television writer and producer Warren Lieberstein on June 18, 2000. Together, they had one daughter, Isabel Ruby Lieberstein, born in 2008. However, the couple separated in 2009 and officially divorced in June 2010, citing irreconcilable differences.
