Anna-Lou "Annie" Leibovitz was born on October 2, 1949 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She is known as a famous American photographer who has worked with many famous public figures and celebrities. Her photo of John Lennon on the day he was assassinated is one of her most notable shots. Her catalog has been used on many album covers, magazines, and other forms of media. In 1991, she became the first female to hold an exhibition at Washington's National Portrait Gallery.
She has three daughters in her family. Her first daughter, Sarah Cameron Leibovitz was born in October 2001 when Leibovitz was already at 52 years of age. In May of 2005, Annie’s twin girls, Susan and Samuelle given birth by a surrogate mother.
A writer and essayist Susan Sontag was known to have a close relationship with Annie for many decades. It was an interesting relationship and no one ever knew if it was a lesbian relationship or friendship.
