Anthea Turner is known as an English television presenter. She is most famous for being a host of Blue Peter from 1992 until 1994. She was also hosting GMTV from 1994 until 1996.
Background
Anthea Turner was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and got her education at the direct grant grammar catholic school known as St Dominic's High School for Girls in Brewood, South Staffordshire.
Turner was one of three little daughters born to her parents Brian and Jean Turner. One of her sisters, Ruth, died at the young age of 15. Her other sister is fellow TV presenter Wendy Turner Webster.
Career
She joined BBC Radio Stoke as a runner. She then eventually joined breakfast show presenter Bruno Brookes as part of his rap morning crew. Turner made a big decision and moved from radio into television through Sky Channel and Music Box. As a TV personality, she worked by presenting live music programs from July 1986 to 1989. She made her debut on national television with the BBC program called But First This.
