<p>Blythe Danner is an American actress who was born on February 3, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Her birth name is Blythe Katherine Danner Paltrow and she was born to Katharine and Harry Earl Danner. She grew up with a brother named Harry Danner who went on to become an opera singer and actor, a sister named Dorothy Danner, and a half-brother named William Moening. Danner attended a Quaker high school called George School in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She went on to graduate from Bard College and landed her first roles in the 1967 musical "<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mata_Hari">Mata Hari</a>" and the 1968 off-Broadway play "Summertree". Danner went on to win the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in "Butterflies Are Free". In 1972, Danner made her film debut in the film "1776" where she played Martha Jefferson.</p>

<p>She went on to lead a long and highly decorated career as an actress with roles in hit films such as "Meet the Parents", "Meet the Fockers", "Little Fockers", "Another Woman", "Alice", "Forces of Nature", and most recently, "What They Had" in 2018. Danner married <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Paltrow">producer</a> and director <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Paltrow">Bruce Paltrow</a> and they had two children together named <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwyneth_Paltrow">Gwyneth Paltrow</a> and <a href="/biography/jake-paltrow">Jake Paltrow</a>. Her husband <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Paltrow">Bruce</a> died in 2002 of oral cancer.</p>
