Chris Hayes is an American commentator. He was born in New York on February 28, 1979. His father’s name is Roger who is an Irish Catholic. His mother, Geri Hayes is an Italian American. He has attended Hunter College High school in New York City. Then he went to Brown University to study Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. During his undergraduate program in Brown University, he also attended student theatre group “Production Workshop”. His father was in Chicago, where he was studying at a Jesuit seminary. Later he started community organizing in the Bronx so he moved to New York City. His father spent several years in community organizing in New York City at Community Service Center. Currently his father is working as Assistant Commissioner at NYC Department of Health. His mother was working as a school teacher. Later she joined the NYC Department of Education.
Currently he hosts a television show “All In with Chris Hayes”. It is an opinion television show on MSNBC. He has hosted other TV shows at MSNBC such as The Ed show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann and The Last word with Lawrence O’Donnell. Before his current show, he used to host “Up with Chris Hayes”. He became the youngest host of the ant prime time show. He entered into the journalism world during the years 2006-2007 through his writing. That time he was a Puffin Foundation writing person at The Nation Institute. He replaced David Corn as an Editor in The Nation, Washington D.C. Talking about his print journalism career, he is currently working as Senior Editor of “In These Times” magazine. This magazine comes in monthly editions in Chicago. This magazine focuses mainly on labor. He covers national and local politics. He has also worked as an English Professor from 2008 to 2010 at the St. Augustine College in Chicago. After the 9-11 time, he focuses especially on issues related to the liberal community and the Democratic Party. He has also guest hosted the show “The Rachel Maddow Show” on July 2010. MSNBC announced that Chris Hayes will be hosting a 2 hour show during the weekends on August 1, 2011. This show was named after Chris Hayes and premiered on Sep 17, 2011. This show dealt with issues currently going on. He also published a book in June 2012.
He got married to Kate Shaw in 2007. His wife is an assistant professor of law and was working at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He was earlier living in Washington D.C. with his wife. Later they moved to New York City, where All In with Chris Hayes show was produced. They have a son, David Emanuel and a daughter, Ryan Elizabeth. The daughter is the elder kid. His brother has worked in Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns in 2008 and then again in 2012.
