Christopher James Hogan is an American professional football player and wide receiver for the New England Patriots who was born on October 24, 1988, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Hogan was born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey where he attended Ramapo High School. Hogan played both football and lacrosse for the high school teams and was a first-team All-New Jersey performer as a junior and senior in lacrosse. Hogan was also an all-state first-teamer as a senior in football. After graduating high school, Hogan went on to attend Penn State on a scholarship where he started all 13 games as a freshman in 2007.
He scored 11 goals in his first year but only played in three games in his sophomore year because of an ankle sprain. In 2008, Hogan took advantage of the year of college eligibility he had left and chose to enroll at Monmouth University to play football for the university's football team the Monmouth Hawks. Hogan signed to the San Francisco 49ers on July 27, 2011, as an undrafted free agent but was released on the following September. The same month he was released by the 49ers, Hogan was signed by the New York Giants where he was placed on a practice squad but ultimately released by the Giants too after just 11 days. He continued to search for a team and was signed to the Miami Dolphin's from 2011 to 2012 but he eventually landed a three-year offer sheet with the New England Patriots for $12 million on March 10, 2016, where he remains today.
