Life as an Author
He wrote a book titled “That's Why I'm Here”. In the book Chris traces the timeline of his career, recalling memories of his life with his first wife Stefanie Belcher, and how he treasures the development of their children. He writes about the deep divine faith that provided his family the comfort and wisdom during the challenging times of the struggle. H
He was known for his powerful play when he was on the field and a very spirited commentator as an ESPN college football expert. In his book, he carried that same passion to every page of the book. This was made possible with the help of the highly celebrated journalist Bruce Hooley, who is a co-host on their popular Columbus morning radio sports show. There are many tales of his playing career in the book but it isn’t only for hardcore football fans. It’s also for those whose faith wavered when they encountered difficulties or a painful period in their live. He encapsulated his deceased wife’s memories, inspiration, tears, heartbreak and joy in the audio book to ensure that her spirit still lives on. It was a very cathartic experience for Chris to write the book. He held a lot of pain in his heart after his wife passed. He was able to find closure when he shared why she was such an amazing woman with the rest of the world.
