Coco Chanel was known as a French fashion designer and business woman. She is most famous for being the founder and namesake of the Chanel brand.
Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel was born on August 19, 1883 in Saumur, France. She was raised in an orphanage where she was taught to sew. Coco had a Short career as a singer before moving to another career and opening her first clothes shop in 1910.
She passed away on January 10, 1971 at Hôtel Ritz Paris in her home country of France.
The famous fashion designer will always be remember for her timeless designs, trademark suits and little black dresses. She launched her first perfume and eventually introduced the Chanel suit and the little black dress in the 1920s. Her brand was focused on making clothes that were more comfortable for women after World War I. She didn’t feel that women should be forced to be uncomfortable for the sake of fashions. She made sporty and casual styles very popular for women to wear.
She is seen as a fashion icon and an icon for women in general because of her attempts at change. Without her, there is no doubt that women’s fashion would be different.
