Personal
Born in December 29, 1947, David L. Grange is a native of Long Island New York. He studied at the North Georgia College and received a Bachelor’s degree in science in 1970 from there. He did his master’s degree at the Western Kentucky University in public service. After his graduation, he was commissioned in the infantry division as Second Lieutenant. He is married to Holly and they have two sons and together they reside in Wheaton Illinois.
Military Career
David L. Grange engaged in combat action when he was positioned as second lieutenant in the I Corps Province in Vietnam in the year 1971. He was then made second lieutenant in the year 1972 and served as adviser in the Vietnamese Airborne Division. He was assigned to Delta Force in the year 1982. During the Grenada invasion, he commanded a squadron. He was also actively involved in the Korean War in 1987 and the Desert Storm. He was made general officer and served in the 3rd infantry division in Germany. He also took part in the Task Force Eagle in Bosnia during the Yugoslav civil wars. He retired from active duty in the year 1999.
Civilian Career
After his retirement from army, David L. Grange served with the McCormick Tribune Foundation as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is at present the President and CEO of the foundation. The foundation is a charitable trust that supports work related to communities, journalism, citizenship, and education. He is also the Board member of the Center on Philanthropy at the Indiana University and also part of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs board. The other councils in which he is a board member include the National Strategy Forum, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Council, and the Society of the First Infantry Division. Besides, he is a trustee at the Marmion Academy and the First Infantry Division. He is also the National security analyst at CNN, WGN-TV, and WGN Radio.
Genera David L. Grange has been decorated for his 30 years of military service with Bronze oak leaf cluster, Bronze star, Silver Star, US Army Airborne master parachutist badge, USAF occupational badge, special forces Tab metal, and the 75th Ranger Regiment DUI. He retired as CEO of Pharmaceutical Product Development organization in the year 2011.
