Dillian Whyte BoxRec is a British professional boxer and mixed martial artist who was born on April 11, 1988, in Port Antonio, Jamaica. He moved with his family when he was 12-years-old to the United Kingdom. He had no schooling while growing up in Jamaica but did attend school in the United Kingdom. While growing up in Brixton, Lambeth, Whyte trained and fought at Miguel's Boxing Gym. He has spoken about how influential boxing has been in his life, especially since he didn't do well in school. Whyte says he knew early on that boxing was his best chance in life. He was originally a professional kickboxer who became a two-time British heavyweight kickboxing champion when he won the BIKMA Super Heavyweight British Championship title and the European K1 championship title.
He was even ranked #1 in the UK for five years until he ended his boxing career with a K-1 record of 20-1. Whyte then switched to MMA and made his professional MMA debut on December 6, 2008, against Mark Stroud. He beat Stroud with a huge left hook 12 seconds into the round winning by KO. Whyte has two boys and a girl and as of December 2018 is ranked as world's fifth-best heavyweight by BoxRec magazine.
