<p>Emilie Ullerup is a Danish <a href="/biography/emilie-ullerup">actress</a> who is most well known for her role as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashley_Magnus">Ashley Magnus</a> on the <em>Sanctuary </em>television series.</p>

<p>Emilie Ullerup was born on October 27, 1984, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ove_Ullerup">father</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ove_Ullerup">Ove Ullerup-Petersen</a>, held the title of Lord Chamberlain for the Danish Royal Family. Emilie is tri-lingual with the ability to speak fluent Danish, English, and Vietnamese. She learned Vietnamese because her father was a diplomat and the Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam. Emilie attended high school in Copenhagen, where she graduated in 2003. She moved to British Columbia, Canada, for her college education. Emilie had long held the desire to become an actress and graduated from the Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2005.</p>

<h2>Career</h2>

<p>Emilie’s debut acting performance was in the role of Julia Prynne in the popular science fiction television show, <em>Battlestar Galactica</em> (2004). She played Sandra in <em>Blood Ties</em> (2006) and became one of the lead characters in the TV series <em>Sanctuary</em> (2008), which starred <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Tapping">Amanda Tapping</a>. Emilie received a Leo Award for the Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Drama Series for her work on <em>JPod</em>. Emilie needed to undergo surgery in 2009 when an aggressive tumor was found wrapped around her spinal nerves, she returned to work just five months later.</p>

<h2>Personal Life</h2>

<p>Emilie has a husband named Kyle Cassie, who works as a Canadian photographer and actor. They met each other on the set of a film called <em>With Love, Christmas</em> but have also worked together on <em>True Justice</em> and <em>Death Do Us Apart</em>. She has a tattoo of both their names on her arm. The two lovebirds got married in 2015. Their first kid, child Mørkøv Ullerup Cassie was born on January 24, 2020.</p>
