Eric Villency was born on June 10, 1975, in New York City, New York. He is the only child of Robert Villency, a businessman who later managed the Villency Design Group, and Rowann Villency, a mixed-media artist. Growing up in a supportive and creative household, Eric was exposed to both entrepreneurial and artistic influences. He has European ancestry, holds American nationality, and identifies as a Christian.
Eric Villency began his professional career in design and was recognized early on for his contributions. In 2001, he received the FIT “All Star Salute,” an acknowledgment from the Fashion Institute of Technology for his work in the design industry. A year later, in 2002, he launched a new line of home furnishings and opened the Maurice Villency flagship store. The store honored his grandfather's legacy while also introducing a modern take on interior aesthetics aimed at younger consumers.
The Villency Design Group was originally founded in 1932 by Maurice Villency as a furniture company. Over the decades, the company evolved significantly under the guidance of successive generations. Now headquartered in New York City's Broadway district, it has earned a reputation as an innovative American design firm specializing in furniture, fitness equipment, technology, beauty products, and fashion-related items. With Eric Villency as CEO, the company continues to offer both interior design services and product development.
In 2007, Eric was honored with the IFDA “Design Industry” award in recognition of his contributions to design and industry development, particularly for his engagement with educational workshops that inspired young designers. In 2008, he launched "Villency Pure Design," a collection focused on domestically produced, environmentally responsible furniture.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Villency has made several appearances on television, lending his design expertise to programs featured on HGTV, Travel Channel, and iDesign. He also utilized his creative talents in documentary filmmaking by producing and presenting INSEAM, which highlights emerging fashion designers and promotes innovation in the fashion industry.
Often described as a charismatic and stylish businessman, Eric Villency has maintained a relatively private personal life. He was previously married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, a television personality best known for co-hosting Fox News Channel’s program The Five. The couple tied the knot in May 2006 at a resort in St. James, Barbados. After three years of marriage, they amicably divorced in 2009. They share a son from the marriage.
As CEO of the Villency Design Group, Eric Villency continues to build on his family's legacy by integrating modern design with responsible manufacturing practices. Under his leadership, the company maintains a strong presence in both national and international markets.
