Giancarlo Stanton was born on November 8, 1989 in Los Angeles, California. Giancarlo is most known for being a top baseball player who is a member of the Major League Baseball team, the Florida Marlins. Giancarlo has two siblings and the name of his father is <a href="/biography/giancarlo-stanton">Mike Stanton</a>. The name of his sister is Kairicce Stanton and the name of his brother is Egidio Stanton. Giancarlo’s parents have roots in Africa and Ireland.

Giancarlo attended two different high schools in his teenage years. He first went to Verdugo Hills High School before switching to Notre Dame High School. After making friends at Verdugo, Giancarlo had to start all over again at Notre Dame. Switching high schools is not that uncommon among teenagers so Giancarlo did not have that hard of a time adjusting.

Giancarlo started playing baseball at a very early age and he was also active in track and field events. As Giancarlo was completing his primary education, he started playing for the Gulf League Marlins. After that beginning playing experience, he got a chance to play for the Jamestown Jammers. When he finished his time playing for the Jammers, Giancarlo started playing for the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Giancarlo’s career baseball stats kept on improving as he got more playing time. He was able to fine tune his craft under different teams and managers. As he started to get recognized for his talent, he was offered chances to play with the better teams. He would outgrow some of his teams because his talent was just too good for them. Sadly, the road to redemption for Giancarlo would end abruptly. In a game against the St. Louis, Giancarlo suffered another injury. This time, the injury would require surgery. The injury was a major loss for his team because they were relying on for a successful season. It was tragic because Giancarlo had just worked himself back into stellar play. He wasn’t even able to enjoy the fruits of his hard work because it was all taken away from him once again when he got hurt during his <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball_All-Star_Game">All-Star</a> season.

Giancarlo was able to recover from surgery and had a 2013 season without any incident. In 2014, he was starting to show no negative signs or lingering effects from his previous injuries. The lucky stretch of not being hurt would sadly end in injury again. Injuries happen all the time in sports but Giancarlo is truly one of the unlucky few who have had to suffer through multiple injuries. During the 2014 season, Giancarlo suffered an injury to his face. He suffered multiple fractures to his face and ended up significant damage to his mouth and teeth.

Even though he had a major injury, the Florida Marlins were compassionate and still valued him as a great baseball player. That same year, he received a new contract extension from the Marlins. With his sketchy injury history, the contract offer shows how talented Giancarlo really is. It would be easy for a team to dump an average player if they saw him as damaged goods. Giancarlo was an excellent <a href="/biography/giancarlo-stanton">player</a> that the Marlins could not risk losing even if he had so many past injuries. The Marlins extended Giancarlo’s contract by 13 years and the price of the contract was 325 million dollars. It was a huge contract only reserved for the best players in the league.
