Jennifer Burke is known as a Canadian newscaster. She is most famous for her work at the CTV News Channel.
Jenifer Burke was born on June 14, 1967. Her father was Chinese and her mother was English. After living her first few years in London, Jennifer and her parents moved to St. Louis in Canada and eventually settled down in Vancouver. She says that journalism had always been among her passions and that her biggest critic was her father.
Jennifer is married and a mom of two daughters. Their first daughter was named Mairin and the second daughter's name is Fiona. She split her work between her Orange Country Home and Vancouver. The recipe turned out to be successful for the whole family, as her husband, Brian P. Burke who is an NHL executive and their two little daughters are all living happily together.
Jenifer Burke started her journalism career in Vancouver as a technical producer and reporter at a news station called CKNW 980 AM and the 101 CFMI. She also worked as the news anchor, producer, and a show scriptwriter for the same station.
Her inspiring look, motivational talk, confidential presentation brought together success in her journalism career. She scored her recognition and fame as a radio presenter and also she grabbed the attention of different audiences worldwide. Her dedication towards her work helped in gaining tangible success across her career in media and journalism
Later, she would work for a variety of news stations such as CHAN-TV, CKVU-TV, and CBC alongside Piya Chattopadhyay. At CBC, she hosted a famous discussion show, Living Vancouver, for which she won a Gemini Award in 2007.
Burke became a part of the CTV News Channel in the year 2009. In April 2013, Jennifer moderated the BC Provincial Leaders Debate for the Broadcast Consortium, leading up to the provincial election.
Besides her television career, Jennifer is also a popular and renowned radio personality who was featured on CKNW at the peak of her radio career, with “The Jennifer Mather Show”. The Canadian television journalist’s early radio career included the role of morning news anchor on “The Bob Saye and Stirling Faux Show” on CFMI-FM. As for “The Jennifer Mather Show”, it was a radio show which tracked an extensive range of social affairs and other social issues such as interviews with famous newsmakers. Among other interesting topics and projects, Burke made a serious investigation over the food preparation troubles at Peace Arch Hospital at Survey B.C. that brought-forth intense changes in the facility.

Burke was nominated for the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters award thanks to her reporting style and professionalism. Burke also got two consecutive Leo Awards in the years 1999 and 2000 for Best News Anchor when she was at Global in Vancouver. The Leo Award is given to the media personalities who have positively impacted the populace with their reporting and media research contributions. She won a Gemini Award for being the Best Lifestyle/Practical Information Segment media person.
Jennifer has also been a crucial member of The Development Fund foundation since 1997. The foundation’s goal is to seek donations to raise money for various charitable activities. Jennifer successfully served as the organization’s Program Director for several years. Since joining the organization in 1997, she has participated in creating an affordable housing consortium in the state of Utah, and been a lead staff person for the California Environmental Redevelopment Fund (CERF), as well as for a similar effort in Pennsylvania. Ms. Burke is the principal liaison with the project's diverse constituencies from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
Jennifer is an enthusiastic social participant who put her efforts and hard work to community activities. She spends most of her leisure time for various noble causes such as Canuck Place, BC Children’s Hospital, The CKNW Orphans Fund, Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, Women’s Media Golf Classic, and the Variety Club. Her involvement in these social and community activities and more specifically in annual Women’s Media Golf Classic has been a contributory factor in raising more than 2.5 million dollars for children’s charities. All funds donated to the annual Women’s Media Golf Classic, go to The Pacific Autism Family Centre Foundation. Burke was the Co-Chair of “Orcas in the City” of Lions Society.
