The village of Littlebeck, North Yorkshire, is the ground where the beautiful actress Joanne Froggatt was born and raised. Her family lived a modest life in the village where her parents, Ann and Keith Froggatt had a small sheep farm near Whitby. She had inclination towards acting right from very childhood, hence went on to join a local drama group in Scarborough. Her passion guided her well to pursue theatre from the Redroofs Theatre School, Maidenhead for which she left home at a tender age of 13.
It was in the year 1996 when Joanne made her debut on the television, with the show named ‘The Bill.’ Later in the year 2003, she did a commendable job in portraying the role of a teenage girl whose boyfriend was murdered in front of her eyes in a road rage. The drama was named ‘Danielle Cable: Eyewitness’ and was based on a true event. Froggatt did an extensive research for the role and her efforts came out with flying colours when the drama was aired. The show received the Best Single drama, BAFTA TV Award nomination.
Froggatt went on to play some acclaimed roles in several drama series which include the character of Angelique Mahy in ‘Island at War,’’ the protagonist of the drama ‘Missing and as Myra Hindley’s sister in ‘See no Evil: The Moors Murders.’ The Old Vic theatre saw her performance from July 2007 to November 2007 as Sister Rosa in the theatre version of ‘All About My Mother.’
She bagged the role of ‘Anna,’ the maid of Lady Mary Crawley in the TV show ‘Downtown Abbey,’ and continues to be with the show since 2010. She was on the peak of her career till date when she received an Emmy Award nomination for her role in 2012 and 2014 and later on in the year 2015, when she went on to win the Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Her other successful roles are identified in the series, ‘Filth,’ ‘uwantme2killhim’ and ‘Still Life.’
As a voice artist she has voiced the cartoon character of Wendy from the 2015 series of Children’s favourite show ‘Bob the Builder.’
The October of 2012, brought in wedding bells ringing for Joanne. Prior to getting married she was in a long term relationship with her present husband James Cannon. The couple is very fond of each other and looks very much in love, each time they are spotted together.
The hot actress lives in Buckinghamshire, Britain along with her husband and is also involved in Philanthropic work. She was incorporated as an ambassador to the campaign ‘Because I Am a Girl;’ an initiative of Global Children Charity Plan, UK.
