John Quiñones is an ABC News correspondent and current host of the television program What Would You Do? What Would You Do? features actors acting out scenes of illegal activity while hidden cameras capture the scene; the show focuses on the behavior of bystanders, their reactions, and whether or not they intervene. Juan Manuel “John” Quiñones was born on May 23, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas. When John was thirteen, his father was laid off of his job as a janitor and John, along with the rest of his family, became a migrant farm worker; picking cherries in Michigan and tomatoes in Ohio.
The experience gave John the determination he needed to attend college. While at Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, John was selected to participate in the federal anti-poverty program know as Upward Bound; the program prepared inner-city high school students for college. John would go on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from St. Mary’s College in San Antonio. He would later earn his master’s from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. A seven time Emmy Award winner, John Quiñones was married to his high school sweetheart for twenty one years. The couple has three children. John is currently married to former model Deanna White.
