Johnny Hekker is known an American football punter for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League.
Background
Johnny Robert Hekker was born on February 8, 1990. Hekker went to classes in Bothell High School which is located in Bothell, Washington. He graduated from his high school in 2008. In his high school football days, he was the starting quarterback of the Cougars football team during his senior year. He ended up leading his team to a State Championship game but they couldn’t pull out the win.
Career
Johnny spent his college football career at Oregon State. He was named the Sun Bowl Special Teams MVP in 2008 after averaging 45 yards on 10 punts, including punts of 57 and 52 yards in the fourth quarter of a 3–0 win for his team over the Pitt Panthers.
After a successful college career, he was signed by the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Hekker has had a great decorated pro career, he is a four-time First Team All-Pro and four-time Pro-Bowler player.
Johnny holds the NFL record for longest punt in Super Bowl history. He set the record with a 65-yarder that he kicked in Super Bowl LIII.
