Katherine Ryan is a Canadian comedian, writer and actress who works as a presenter for English television. Katherine Ryan was born on June 30, 1983, in Sarnia, Ontario; her father owns an engineering company and her mother owns an IT consulting company. While she was studying city planning at the University of Toronto, Katherine took a job at the restaurant Hooters, where she became a corporate trainer. She traveled extensively with Hooters and worked at the opening of their first restaurant in the United Kingdom in Nottingham; she decided to move there permanently in 2008. Katherine has appeared on many different British celebrity game shows including Mock the Week, A League of Their Own, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie to You?, QI, Just a Minute, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Katherine appeared on the BBC’s Live at the Apollo as a stand-up comedian, for which she was awarded the Nivea Funny Women Award. Her live stand-up routine was recorded and released by Netflix under the title Katherine Ryan: In Trouble. Katherine has a daughter, named Violet; the pair live together in Crouch End, London. Katherine recently joined Jimmy Carr and D.L. Hughley as a presenter for the American comedy show The Fix.
